What You Say Will Be The Way!

Have you heard the old saying that ‘there is many a true word said in jest?’

More accurately, ‘there is many a true word said by accident!’

I made the decision to write this short article as I have become increasingly intolerant of the level of verbal negativity that pass the lips of the majority of our population, just in daily conversation. You can even hear it from those individuals who are in positions of responsibility, who should REALLY know better.

Everyday, people just like you, are negatively affecting the course of their lives without realising that they are doing so, or the DAMAGE they are causing and the opportunities they are missing and excluding themselves from.

What you say WILL affect your future …sometimes quite DRAMATICALLY!

As we speak we are in fact programming our subconscious mind. You can hear a simple example of this every time you hear someone say ‘I can’t do this, or I can’t that!’ We both know that when you hear someone say this it USUALLY means that they either ‘don’t want to do it’! Or, they haven’t yet applied 100% effort to succeed in doing so, and as a result they believe that they can’t do it.

We are constantly programming our belief system by what we say, even we say it mentally.

However, every time you hear someone say that they CAN’T! Their subconscious mind usually believes them without question, and for that reason it won’t even try helping them. By contrast, if they made just a small adjustment to that sentence such as changing it to:

‘HOW CAN I?’ Then their mind is being given a challenge, and will immediately respond by starting to look for ways of helping them in their objective.

Your subconscious mind is your BEST friend, or it can be your own personal saboteur! Its there to assist you by helping you do the this you say and it never questions if what you say is either wrong or right, it leaves the clever stuff to your conscious decision making mind.

If you say that something is going to be hard your subconscious mind immediately starts working on your belief system and helping you by making things more difficult than they need to be. You said that it would be difficult and it believes you…

By contrast, the reverse is also true, so when you say something is going to be fun and easy your subconscious will find way of making it so and convincing your belief system of this fact that you have just stated.

Please remember, whatever your task, goal or objective…

You choose what you say, and the way that you think! For this reason it is TOTALLY up to you whether you make your task an arduous and boring struggle, or a fun and enjoyable experience that helps you to grow as a human being.

What you say may also influence the people around you, so speak and think responsibly.

So why am I making such a BIG thing of little words?

When you need to lose approximately 160lb as I do, the road before you is both interesting and full of opportunities. Or that is what I choose to believe!

More recently my fitness and weight loss journey has been picking up momentum and has caught the interest of a lot of people within my social and business circles. I love having their interest and the more people I have following me in this way the more responsible I feel to be successful and not let them down.

However, it makes me ANGRY when other people become negative about my objectives and start telling me how difficult or hard I am going to find it to succeed in my quest! Such careless comments are a bit like pointing a loaded gun at someone as their negative advice is almost as dangerous as a live bullet. It has the potential to do HUGE amounts of lasting damage by dampening, or even extinguishing the flame of enthusiasm within that person.

I know that generally there is no malaise in the words or actions of such people. However, I feel as if I want to shake them to make them aware of the damage that such words and programming is doing to their own potential, and more importantly the potential of the people around them.

Now you know that such use of language can be compared to shooting yourself in the foot please become aware of the words you use, ESPECIALLY in front of children who are easily influenced by what adults say.

Stay positive in all things and you will be moving forward in life…

Finally…

Maintaining a positive attitude in life is certainly one of the most important gifts you can give to yourself and more recently I can across a GEM of a book that will put things into perspective for you. It’s a really easy and fun read and you can read more about it by clicking on this link.
