Boy am I learning about myself!

In one of the post comments someone kindly left, they asked me if I was prepared to eat like this for the rest of my life and I answered yes. However, that is a very deep and multi faceted question that has been sitting heavily on my mind ever since, and the simple answer is still yes. However the quested goes much deeper than than that as it has made me realise that I have developed eating habits and patterns that must be linked and related to some deep rooted belief which I could revert to if I don’t become aware of this fact.

DIET: I can’t believe we are at the end of another week already as it seems to have gone so quickly. As far as diet is concerned I feel I have done quite well while I am at home, its going out which is the problem and the associated problem which accompany it, I will overcome.

Today is going to another of these difficult tests as I have to go and eat with some people I am doing work for, I just hate lunch time appointments for this reason! I think the sustainable way forward is to be sensible over the my choice of food, but eat slowly and STOP as soon as I fee full. Certainly I would prefer to eat and work at home so I can have a banana and salad, but life goes on. [click to continue…]

I managed to survive the EXTREME courtesy of my friend yesterday and am focused and back in the driving seat again. I have noticed if I eat larger meals at lunchtime I really do not feel like working, in fact I feel more like going to sleep. For this reason I am going to start paying EXTRA attention to my intake throughout the day, perhaps become a grazer to get maximum effectiveness out of me. [click to continue…]

Today is going to be an interesting one as I have to go to work with a friend in Bristol who is naturally thin and who’s idea of moderation is two extra portions rather than four! He said he will cook which is going to be interesting as I may be caught between good manors and good eating – I WILL SURVIVE!

The start of another week and the one I intend to because very serious about gaining consistent results. Last week was a bit of an experiment, and one which worked well, so now I have to get down to it and make it happen – I have lots of new self serving habits to develop …and I have decided it not going to be hard – just FUN!

I am getting a real taste for salad and so are my children. In the past they would look at a bowl of salad and crinkled up their noses in disgust. Last night I considered making more as they rapidly devoured the bowl which I had prepared along with the homemade humus with RAW carrot dips – WHAT  A SURPRISE.

Had a day away with the children and eat well but wisely. I let myself down when we visited a friend on the way home who opened the chocolate biscuits, I am ashamed to say I had 3! Okay, tomorrow is another day!

Happy “Independence Day” USA!

I am going to take it a little easier this weekend because diet wise I believe I have had a very good week. Last night when I returned from Judo with my children my wife asked if we wanted to eat, and I didn’t feel hungry at all.

I am sure my stomach has shrank, quite dramatically shrank, because I just can’t eat the portions size which I was eating just last week,  no sooner I start eating than I feel full. The answer I think is to east slower and enjoy every mouthful a lot more and finish eating the moment I feel full or think that I am full. It’s AMAZING the difference just ONE WEEK of focused effort can make! [click to continue…]

I seem to be settling down into my new eating regime quite nicely.

I have been very strict with my portion size and eating approximately half what I would have done in the past and I have not been hungry. Last night my children I started to eat RAW carrot – now that’s something I would have never have believed I would have eaten, and CERTAINLY NOT my children, but they saw me doing and had to explore in case they were missing something.
